Sorry, Texas Fans!

Well, friends, I am sad to announce that we had to end our relationship with Central Market stores in Texas. After two years of hearing customer complaints about the store not restocking our products and misinforming them that the store no longer carries them, we had to make a decision and we chose to no longer allow them to carry our products. We do not want to do business with companies that don’t care enough to make changes to improve customer satisfaction. We truly want everyone to know that we bent over backwards to correct the Central Market situation, but we were constantly met with lack of caring on their part. They have made our company look inept far too long and we just want to convey to our fans and customers that y’all come first and we are so sorry if it’s been a hassle for you to get the products you enjoy!

On the bright side, we just began selling our products to Fresh by Brookshires in Tyler, TX, so hopefully you’ll be able to get your fix there! And if not, there’s always our online store!

Thanks for buying our products, y’all, we hope you keep enjoying them!

And you know what makes a great gift? A basket full of Cousins Products, of course! What hostess wouldn’t love to receive a platter of pre-cut veggies with a jar of Creole Tomato dressing that makes a great appetizer, or a delicious snack she can keep for herself!? Surprise your favorite steak lover with a package of fresh filets and a jar of our Bleu Cheese dressing for dipping or drizzling over a sizzling hunk’a meat!!

Oh, and for those of you on the North Shore, don’t forget that we’ll be at the Covington Farmers Market on Christmas Eve, from 8am-noon, creatively cooking and selling our products at a special Christmas price!

We wish all of you a safe, happy and healthy holiday season! We hope that, amidst all of the last-minute frenzy and long shopping lines, you’re able to remember the true “reason for the season” and take the time to be with those whom you love to celebrate this magical time of year.

Have a blessed Christmas and a safe & happy new year!

Holiday Entertaining

Happy Holidays, y’all!

We have been in the kitchen cooking up a storm lately, so I’m sorry that you haven’t heard from me in awhile. I hope you have been enjoying the holiday season and have been able to take a few minutes for yourself to think about what is truly important this time of year.

The holidays mean friend and family, and while we are always so happy to have guests drop by, we certainly know it can be stressful to handle social obligations and last-minute get-togethers!

We wanted to share a quick and easy recipe with you featuring our delicious FRESH SALSA PICANTE as a delicious accent to a layered dip!

We hope you enjoy and as always, we would love to hear from you!

Layered Mexican Dip

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 jar of COUSINS FRESH SALSA PICANTE

1 can of your favorite refried beans

1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese

1 fresh tomato, diced

Shredded lettuce

Prepared Guacamole (for serving, optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any excess fat. Stir the COUSINS FRESH SALSA PICANTE in the skillet and cook until the beef and salsa mixture is hot and bubbling.
  3. Spread the beans along the bottom of a 2-quart shallow baking dish. Top with the beef and salsa mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling. Top with the chopped tomato and lettuce, plus guacamole, if desired.
  5. Serve with a bag of tortilla chips for dipping.
